Ephraim Kriel, Chairman & President
Ephraim has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. He is also the former owner and CEO of a top-three insurance brokerage in Israel (sold to AON), and was the lead partner and owner of Personal Direct Insurance Company, now known as “9,000,000” brand. Ephraim has also served as a Bonds Issuance Consultant for US companies raising capital in Israel, and led the largest bond raise in the TASE for a foreign company (excluding banks) – $300M USD raised for Extell Ltd. A subsequent bond raise for Extell procured $150M USD. In all, Ephraim has assisted his clients in procuring over $500M USD through bond issuances in Israel. Ephraim is a member of the board of trustees and council at Bar Ilan University, a member of the Bnei Akiva Friends Association, and a member of impact associations. He is one of the founders of the Israel Congress, promoting reconciliation between sectors of the population with divergent views on Judaism and democracy. Ephraim holds a law degree from the Hebrew University (Tel Aviv branch), and an MA in World History.
Nir Kriel, CEO
Nir has over 17 years of experience in the real estate industry, and has been managing and coordinating Aminim’s real estate activity since 2002. He oversees all of Aminim’s daily operations, and is responsible for the company’s strategic planning, business development, relationship building with partners, and fundraising of institutional and private equity. Nir has vast experience sourcing, financing, refinancing, closing and dispositioning real estate transactions. He has led real estate purchases with a total value of over $1B USD. Nir has also led a number of successful exits as part of Aminim’s global operations, which have resulted in returns above underwritten expectations. Under Nir’s leadership, Aminim’s operations have grown exponentially over the last decade, with the company entering new markets and establishing strong partnerships in both the United States and Israel. Nir holds an MBA from the University of Hertfordshire in the U.K.
Assaf Halperin, VP Business Development
Assaf’s primary responsibilities at Aminim as Vice President of Business Development, involves the identification, development and growth of new business opportunities in multifamily and other commercial real estate sectors. He also liaises with investing partners and is heavily involved with Aminim’s strategic decision making. Assaf has more than 12 years of experience working in a range of fields within the financial sector, including financing and deal structure, investment banking, contract negotiation and valuations, and has strong market knowledge of both local and international real-estate markets. Previous to his current role, Assaf held the position of Executive Vice President at Menora Mivtachim Underwriters & Management LTD, and prior to that was a senior advisor at Deloitte where he served as a member of the financial advisory department. Assaf holds a B.A. in Economics & Business Administration from Bar Ilan University, and an MBA in Business Management from Tel Aviv University.
Rafi Karp, Senior Analyst
Rafi has held various positions in financial and data analysis over the last 14 years. He joined the Aminim team in 2014, and is responsible for analyzing potential acquisitions, liaising with Aminim’s investment partners through the acquisition stage and post-closing, and analyzing exits and refinance strategies. Since joining Aminim, Rafi has participated in the closing of $750M USD in acquisitions, as well as working through numerous successful exits and refinances. Prior to joining Aminim, Rafi worked as a financial analyst at companies in both Israel and Australia. Most notably, he was a member of the retail banking finance team at the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), one of Australia’s Big-4 banks, where he was responsible for various analysis and reporting functions across the nationwide branch network. Rafi holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Certificate in Management, both from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
Alita Mandel, Asset Manager
Alita is a U.S. CPA with over 3 years of corporate tax and other general accounting experience. She has worked in the Israel offices of international accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers (Kesselman & Kesselman) and Ernst & Young. Alita performed multiple accounting roles at both organizations, including the preparation of U.S. corporate tax returns for some of Israel’s largest institutions, which required reviewing and dissecting the institutions’ real estate holdings and investments. She has also worked on U.S. corporate tax reporting for some of Israel’s leading hi-tech firms, and has spent time auditing not-for-profit organizations. Alita joined the Aminim team in 2017. She is responsible for the asset management of Aminim’s portfolio, which includes ongoing analysis of each property’s financials, general oversight of property operations, regular property visits, liaising with asset management teams, and the compilation of periodical reporting. Alita holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Touro College and holds a New York CPA License.
